Kaba Auditcon 2: set or turn off the time delay
How the Master user sets a 1 to 99 minute opening delay, the opening window that follows it, and how to switch the delay off again.
Before you start
- You need the Master User combination (User ID
00plus the six-digit Master PIN). - Add any Time Delay Override users first. On the 252 that is User 20; on the 552, Users 90 to 99. Once a delay is set they can no longer be added.
- The lock has no battery. Power it before every operation by turning the dial briskly back and forth until you see two green-and-red flashes and hear two beeps.
Caution. You cannot change the delay while a delayed opening is running. The lock ignores
#commands until the window closes.
Set the time delay
- Power the lock. Two green-and-red flashes.
- Press # then 5. Green-and-red flashes.
- Enter the Master combination. Green-and-red flashes.
- Enter the delay in minutes,
01to99. Green-and-red flashes. - Enter the same delay again to verify. Green-and-red flashes.
- Enter the opening window in minutes,
01to20. Green-and-red flashes. - Enter the same window again to verify. Two green-and-red flashes confirm.
Three red flashes at any step means the entry was rejected. Re-key from step 2.
What happens when someone opens the lock now
Entering a valid combination starts the delay. While powered, the lock shows two red flashes about every four seconds. When the delay ends, the opening window starts: two green flashes with a beep every four seconds. Enter the combination again inside that window and the lock opens. Miss the window and the next valid combination starts a fresh delay.
Turn the time delay off
Run the same procedure and enter 00 at step 4 (and again at step 5). The default from the factory is zero, meaning no delay.
Notes
- A change to the opening window takes effect only after the next opening.
- Shelving the lock keeps the delay setting until the next unlock.
